How to Create and Deliver Ad Variations from a Single Design.

With the Feed Ad Builder, you can download the design variation, but if combined with Ad Serving, you can use a single Ad Tag in your display campaign where you can control the variation you want to show your audience. 

Create your CSV

1. Create your spreadsheet using Google Sheets¹.
2. Input the data in your spreadsheet.
3. Go to File > Share > Publish to web.
4. On the Publish window, go to the Link section.
5. Select the sheet you want to be published.
6. Set the spreadsheet as Comma-separated values (CSV).
7. Copy the link and save it for later.

Link your CSV with the Feed Ad Builder

1. Open your Design/Design Set.
2. Click on Feed.
3. Click Create feed.
4. Select Upload from URL.
5. Click on the Settingsdropdown icon.
6. In the Target ID Section, select Row index (default).
7. Click Continue.
8. Link the columns from your CSV with the elements from your design.
   • Choose how the text element behaves when connected to a feed: Click on a Text Element > Under Text Boundaries section, click on the dropdown menu > Select one of the following: Resize box to fit text, Shrink text on overflow or Ellipsis.

Set up and Adjust the Ad Tag code

1. Enable Ad Serving.
2. Obtain the Ad Tag code of your design. Choose one of the two:
   • Download as XLS. A Spreadsheet is downloaded to your computer where you can copy the Ad Tag.
   • Copy code. Copy the Ad Tag directly from Creatopy.
3. Before uploading the Ad Tag, adjust the macro as follows:
   • In the "feedRow" column, replace {FEED_ROW} with the row number you'd like to show your audience. In this scenario, the CSV has 5 variations, and if you want to show the 3rd one, you will replace {FEED_ROW} with 3, as that's the value representing the 3rd variation of the design.
4. Copy the adjusted code into your Ad Network of choice as a 3rd party tag.

Note¹: It's not mandatory to use Google Sheets; you can use any spreadsheet software at your disposal.
