With the Feed, you can download the design variation, but if combined with Ad Serving, you can use a single Ad Tag in your display campaign where you can control the variation you want to show your audience.
Create your CSV
- Create your spreadsheet using Google Sheets¹.
- Input the data in your spreadsheet.
- Go to File > Share > Publish to web.
- On the Publish window, go to the Link section.
- Select the sheet you want to be published.
- Set the spreadsheet as Comma-separated values (CSV).
- Copy the link and save it for later.
Import the Feed in Creatopy
- Head over to the left sidebar, and click on Feed.
- Click on Create feed.
- Click on Import feed.
- A pop-up window will open, where you can select Sync from URL.
- Paste the CSV link saved from earlier.
- Click on Confirm link.
- Adjust Feed settings as needed.
- Sync Feed content. Set the frequency for updating your feed content.
- List separator type. Set the separator type for your file.
- Target ID. If you set up target IDs in your file, select the appropriate column from the dropdown menu. Otherwise, use the Row index option.
- You will have a preview of the feed content where you can:
- Rename your feed.
- View the contents of your feed.
- Adjust feed settings.
- Click Apply feed.
Bind the Feed with your Creative
- Select the layer from your design.
- Head over to the Properties bar.
- Click the Diamond icon to connect a layer property to your feed's variables.
Set up and Adjust the Ad Tag code
- Enable Ad Serving.
- Obtain the Ad Tag code of your design. Choose one of the two:
- Download as XLS. A Spreadsheet is downloaded to your computer where you can copy the Ad Tag.
- Copy code. Copy the Ad Tag directly from Creatopy.
- Before uploading the Ad Tag, adjust the macro as follows:
- In the "feedRow" column, replace {FEED_ROW} with the row number you'd like to show your audience. In this scenario, the CSV has 5 variations, and if you want to show the 3rd one, you will replace {FEED_ROW} with 3, as that's the value representing the 3rd variation of the design.
- Copy the adjusted code into your Ad Network of choice as a 3rd party tag.
Note¹: Using Google Sheets is not mandatory; you can use any spreadsheet software you have available.
