Creatopy offers you the possibility of creating ads from a .CSV feed that you can upload into your account and use it to source various bits of information allowing you to generate multiple different creatives from a single design. You can use .CSV files to store data such as product name, product image, headline, body text, CTA, target URL, etc. and then feed that data to your ads.
You can view a CSV file as plain text in a text editor like Notepad, however, we do recommend using a spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for better data visualization.
What are our requirements?
- Include a column header row
The first row of your imported CSV file will be treated as a column header row, so pay attention to your content categories, as you will need to bind them later to corresponding elements in your design.
- List each item or product on its own row
Each row in your CSV file must describe a single entity - the item your ad variation is all about.
- Check the file format and encoding
Be sure to save your file in CSV format, with a UTF-8 Unicode Text encoding.
- Choose images of the same size and orientation
If you are feeding images for your ad variations (ex. for product ads), make sure that the images to be fed have the same size, orientation and that the objects in them have the same placement within the image.
- Keep the number of text characters similar to that in your original design
When dealing with headlines, body text and CTAs, it’s recommended that you keep the number of characters similar to that in your original design, in order to maintain the overall look of your design variations.
- Maximum file size and URL serving
You can upload CSV files of maximum 1 MB in size. The CSV files can be served also via URL.
