An element of novelty guaranteed to speed up your workflow considerably is the ability to work with main layouts.
The logic behind it is simple: if you create a dedicated reference layout for each orientation square, vertical, and horizontal, then resizing it on layouts of the same orientation can be done with a single click, and the results are guaranteed to be good enough to require little to no adjusting.
Main Layouts
The main layouts are always displayed in the grey dotted area on the top of the stage. They are assigned according to closeness in aspect ratio to what the algorithm classified as ideal sizes for each orientation. The ideal size standard is selected according to the easiness of resizing on other sizes of the same orientation.
General Layouts
The general layouts are listed underneath the corresponding main size for each orientation.
How to Set a New Main
If you wish to change the main size for a specific orientation, you can do so by following these steps:
- Locate the size you want to set as main from the general sizes.
- Click on the dropdown menu¹, and select Set as main.
Pro tip¹: To view the menu, make sure your zoom level is high enough that the name and pixel dimension information are visible underneath each size.
